Located in a region with a viticulture rich history, the Russian River Valley Appellation, this property takes full advantage of it’s ideal cool climate locale. Named for the first non-natives who settled in Sonoma County along the Sonoma coast. The region was discovered to be an optimal place to farm and hunt. Agriculture, including viticulture, was a primary goal for the settlers and the fertile soils of the Russian River Valley provided a region apt for farming. In 1983 the Russian River Valley American Viticulture Area (AVA) became an approved Viticultural area and was later extended in 2005 to cover land to the east and south of the AVA’s original established limits, including the entire Santa Rosa, Green Valley, Sonoma County region, and the southwestern edge of the Russian River Valley. In addition, the new boundary includes a southernmost region, located south and west of Sebastopol, which is locally referred to as the Sebastopol Hills.
The Russian River Valley climate is created by the regular intrusion of cooling fog from the Pacific Ocean a few miles to the west. Much like the tide, the fog ebbs and flows through the Petaluma Wind Gap and the channel cut by the Russian River. The fog usually arrives in the evening, often dropping the temperature 35 to 40 degrees from the daytime high and retreats to the ocean the following morning. This natural air-conditioning allows the grapes to develop a mature, full flavor over an extended growing season — often 15 to 20 percent longer than neighboring areas — while retaining their life-giving natural acidity. Combined with the famous Goldridge loam soil with large amounts of clay, creates a profound effect on the wines produced in this region.

Planted in 1999 and 2008 the 4.5± premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyard produces an average of 14 tons per year. The vineyard consists of approximately 4.25 acres, (4,514 vines) of Pinot Noir grapes and .25± acres, (180 vines) of Chardonnay grapes.
Servicing the property is a 5,000± water storage tank for the vineyard and a 2,500± water tank for the home, a three bedroom septic system, PG&E electrical, and a 200± foot deep well yielding 78 gallons per minute (Pacific Pump test as of July 8, 2015).
